Thomas R. Adkins, age 84 of West Carrollton, passed away Friday, June 21, 2019 at Kettering Medical Center. He was born August 31, 1934 in McKee, Kentucky, the son of the late Harvey and Mildred (Tincher) Adkins. Tom was a proud US Navy Corpsman where he was stationed in Japan. He served the Lord in many capacities and was a deacon for over 50 years. Tom was a devout Christian who loved spreading the Lord's word. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending his time with his family, especially fishing with his brothers, son and grandson. Tom retired from General Motors. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by granddaughter, Alyssa Adkins and grandson, Jeremy Stapleton; siblings, Harold, Dalford and Vernon Adkins. Thomas is survived by his wife of 62 years, Pauline (Raines) Adkins; children, Greg (Pam) Adkins and Tammy Stapleton; grandchildren, Alannah Adkins, Destiny Stapleton, Hannah Grace Adkins and Sam Stapleton; siblings, James (Dee) Adkins, Annie (Kenny) Hill, Nellie (Rich) Sullivan, Dora (Jack) Abrams, Violet Flynn, Terry (Jim) Razauskas and Sandy (Larry) Sizemore; along with numerous extended family and friends. Family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 pm on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Kettering Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, June 28, 2019 at Grace Baptist Church - Middletown, 3023 Union Rd, Franklin, Ohio 45005.
