Janet Lou Saunders, age 82 of Riverside, OH, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2019. She was born October 20, 1936, in Goose Run, Ohio, to William and Hazel (Darby) Wyskiver.
Janet was a telephone operator for the Dayton Police Department for 38 years. She decorated cakes professionally, loved to scrapbook, and enjoyed creating different types of ceramic figures. Janet was an active member of Pathway Baptist Church in Huber Heights since 2000. She loved her family dearly and will be greatly missed by all.
Janet is survived by her son, Bill (Velvet) Welz; a granddaughter, Brittany Welz; two grandsons, Evan and Joe (Jackee) Desjardins; a brother, Jack (Phyllis) Wyskiver; and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Herbert Welz and Charles Saunders; and two sisters, Joan Kauffman and Ann Cox.
A visitation will be on Wednesday, May 1, 2019, from 12:30 to 1:30 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio, 45432. Funeral services will follow the visitation at the funeral home at 1:30 pm. Burial will follow the services at Byron Cemetery.
