Edna Marie Skinner, age 102 of Dayton, Ohio passed away April 13, 2019. She was born on October 17, 1916 in Dayton to William "Bill" Bailey and Nora Josephine Bailey (Wehner). Edna was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Earl "Cannonball" Bailey and Richard Bailey; sister, Leuella Stanfield; aunt, Bertha Mae King; and special friend, Wilber "Jesse" James.
Edna is survived by her son, John Skinner; and daughters: Judith Tobias and Terry (Roger) Stratton.
Edna graduated from Stivers High School and was on the swimming team. She enjoyed playing baseball and boxing with the neighborhood boys and her brother Earl. She was quite the tomboy. Edna worked hard her long life at Hewitt Soap, Leland Electric, Master Electric, Elder Beerman and Apex Machine and Tool. She sewed and made to order stuffed animals from cats to dogs to horses and cattle. She enjoyed making jewelry and flower arrangements.
Edna was greatly loved and will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Visitation will be held from 12:30-1:30 pm on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, where the funeral service will begin at 1:30 pm.
