Kastner, Irma G age 89 of Dayton, Ohio passed away January 24th, 2019.
She graduated from Saint John High School 1949. She worked at Wright Patterson Airforce Base as a secretary where she met her husband of 59 years, Richard J Kastner.
Irma was pure of heart. She never met a stranger and was kind to everybody. Irma was a member of the Third Order Franciscans for 45 years as well as an active member of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church and the Church of the Ascension. She was a member of the choir, liturgy and bereavement committees. She was a volunteer for many years at St. Elizabeth and Kettering Memorial Hospitals. Irma loved to read and collect books. She enjoyed camping and accompanying her husband during model airplane events. She loved being outdoors enjoying nature. She spent many hours at Carriage Hill Farm.
She is preceded in death by her parents Louis and Alethea Strukamp; sisters Marilyn Stukamp, Dolores Tobias; brother Stanley Stukamp; husband Richard J Kastner.
She is survived by a sister Thelma Creaghe; daughter Ann Sherman (Mark) and their children Brian and wife Devon, Sarah, Michelle, Rachel; son Thomas Kastner; daughter Clare Wallin (Jay) and their children Tyler and wife Elyzabeth Johnson, Emily and Ben; son David Kastner (Lana) and their children Leah, Jared and Joshua.
Family will greet friends from 10:00 - 11:00am Thursday, Jan. 31st at Ascension Catholic Church in Kettering OH. Funeral Mass to follow.
Donations can be made to Ohio's Hospice of Dayton.
The family would like to recognize the staff of Brookdale of Beavercreek, especially Millie (her angel), for the outstanding compassionate care she received for the past 3 years. Millie and Irma were nicknamed Peanut Butter and Jelly, respectively. The family feels blessed for the compassion that Milly showed to our parents and our family.
