Detrick, Lester John age 88, of Centerville passed away Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Hospice of Dayton.
He was born March 26, 1930 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Amer and Edna (Taylor) Detrick.
Lester worked at Burger Iron for 47 years retiring in 1995. He was a member of Sugar Creek Presbyterian Church for 60 years holding a number of offices in the church. Lester was a member of Kettering Sertoma and, later, Dayton Optimist Club.
Lester and his late wife, Janet (Shillito) Detrick, owned L-J Stained Glass for 20 years.
He is survived by his children, son Stephen (Ruth) Detrick; 2 daughters, Carole (Paul) Ritzi and Leslie (Tony) Spivey; six grandchildren, Jill (Gary) Lumsden, Nicholas Ritzi, Lauren (Joshua) Burke, Melinda Spivey, Chris (Rachel) Spivey, Elizabeth (Nathan) LeBaron; five great grandchildren, Mitchell Hodges, Faith Ritzi, Eli Burke, Nora LeBaron and Emma Spivey as well as many other family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2019 from 9-11:00 am at Sugar Creek Presbyterian Church, 4417 Bigger Rd., Kettering, OH 45440. A funeral will follow at 11:00 am at the church.
