Richard Lee "Shoes/Candyman" Smith, 79, of Fairborn, passed away on December 21, 2018 at home surrounded by his family.
He was born on July 14, 1939 to Richard and Colleen (Lane) Smith in New Jasper, OH.
He graduated from Fairborn High School in 1956 and served his country in the United States Navy on the Ticonderoga.
Dick is survived by his Significant Other, Linda Walters; Daughters, Laura Lee Ratliff and Sherri Marie (Rob) Hocter; Son, Richard Dean (Karen) Smith; Grandchildren, Jonathan (Tiana) Smith, Stephanie Ratliff, Shelby, Jeb, and Turner Hocter; Great Grandchildren, Hunter, Jackson, and Brynley Smith.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Richard Leon Smith; Mother, Colleen Mae Smith; Sister, Ester Joann Graeter; Brother, Skippy Reid Smith; and Wife, Laura Jean Smith.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, December 28th at Amvets Post 148 - 11495 Lower Valley Pike Medway Ohio from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. with Military Honors at 6:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Hospice of Miami Valley.
