Theda J. Rice, 93, of Beavercreek, OH, passed away on Dec. 22, 2018 at Hospice of Dayton.
She was born on Feb. 5, 1925 to Roland and Eva (Sears) Shadowens in Carterville, IL.
Theda worked as a factory worker for Univis Lens in Dayton where she met Clarence E. Rice.
They married and had one Daughter, Cheryl "Sherry". On Dec. 30, 1975, she married Howard J. "Shorty" Rice in Marion, IL.
She was a member of Faith Baptist Church for nearly 20 years.
In addition to her Parents, she was preceded in death by her Husband, Howard; Siblings, Lambert Leon, Roland Jr., Bromley Shadowens, and Marcella (Ernest) Gancsos; Step-Son-in-law, Joe Gulley; and Special Friend, Dale Shultz.
Theda is survived by her loving Daughter, Cheryl (Terry) Kerr; Step-Daughters, Donna Gulley, Sara (J.P.) Barrington, and Linda (Dennis) Drust; Siblings, Lamont (Kathy) Shadowens and Paula (Keith) Judy; Grandchildren, Marie (Norm) Kriedman, Lori (Gary) Mausey, David Gulley, Angela (Bobby) Jackson, April (Nathan) Bittle, Justin (Brista) Barrington, Ben Drust, Amy Jo Drust, and Brad Drust; Great Grandsons, Sam and Max Kriedman; many Step-Great-Grandchildren and Nieces and Nephews. Theda is also survived by extended family, Leslie (Tom) Wilmes, Kris Kerr, and Craig Kerr; Lindsay (Dustin) Flowers, Taylor Wilmes, and Tessa Flowers.
Visitation Thurs., Dec. 27, from 10 am to Noon, at Faith Baptist Church (4215 Indian Ripple Rd. Beavercreek, OH 45440).
Funeral services at Noon.
Interment immediately after at Trissel Cemetery in New Lebanon.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Faith Baptist Church or Hospice of Dayton.
