Sally G. Gilbert, age 93, of Miami Township passed away Monday, December 17, 2018. Sally was born September 28, 1925 in Rock Castle County, Kentucky to the late Adolphus Lovett and Lillie (Blair) Lovett. Sally worked as a bomber wing tip riveter for Chrysler Air Temp during World War II and as a waitress at the Talbott Tower in Dayton.

Sally was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Dixon, and her brothers and sisters: Emma (Jay) Fuston, Oscar (Clara) Lovett, Ray (Cassie) Lovett, Dea Lovett, and Mary June (Elmer) Brock. Surviving are her two sons: Larry (Ruth) Gilbert of Alabama and Keith (Diane) Gilbert of Miami Township; four grandchildren: Joseph Gilbert of Alabama, Kenneth (Rita) Gilbert of Macedonia, OH, Lori Winfield of Alabama and Jesse Gilbert of Miami Township; and six great-grandchildren: Lauren, Joseph, Melissa, Ashley, Matthew and Benjamin.

Her funeral service will be held Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd in Dayton with Pastor Mac Burberry officiating. Visitation will be held at Newcomer from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 am prior to the service. A graveside committal service at Evergreen Cemetery in West Carrollton will follow the funeral service.

Sally was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many.
