Mable Leann Mitchell

Mable Leann Mitchell age 95, of Spring Valley, Ohio passed away October 28, 2018 at her son's home.
Mable was born June 6, 1923, at College Park, Georgia, the daughter of Hammond and Bessie (Mayfield) Mitchell.
Mable attended the Wogaman Elementary and graduated from Dunbar High School. After graduation she began working for Wright Patterson Air Force Base and Defense Electronic Supply Center (Gentile). She enjoyed traveling across the globe. Some of her favorite destinations were Spain and Africa. Mable was an accomplished Poet and was a devoted volunteer for the Greene County Hospital, American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association for many years.
She was a member of the Corinthian Baptist Church for numerous years. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Leroy Mitchell, Emmitt Mitchell and Ernest Mitchell. Survivors include her loving son and daughter-in-law, Stephen C. and Deborah Durham, DMD; grandson, Stephen C. Durham, Jr.; granddaughter, Kelly Rodgers; grandson, Curtis Rodgers; great-grandson, Peyton Mantooth and brother, Harold Mitchell.
Family will receive friends Thursday, November 1, 2018 from 10-11 a.m. at Newcomer South Dayton Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd., where a funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Burial will take place following the service at Miami Valley Memorial Gardens. Memorial Contributions to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
