Stephen Lee Northern

Stephen Lee "Steve" Northern, age 50 of Dayton, passed away Monday, October 15, 2018 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born December 23, 1967 in Dayton, Ohio, the son of Lewis and JoAnn (Weidner) Northern.
Steve was preceded in death by his father, Lewis W. Northern; brother, Harry E. "Sonny" Cassel and paternal grandparents, Charles and Viola Northern.
Steve is survived by his children: Nicole P. Northern, Nathan L. Northern and Natalie M. Northern; brother, Kerry "Scott" (Kelly) Cassel; mother of his children, Marcia Northern and best friend, Todd Tangeman as well as extended family members and many friends.
Steve was a 1986 graduate of Centerville High School where he enjoyed soccer and excelled as a goalie. He was a self-employed general contractor who specialized in outdoor spaces, renovation and restoration. Steve was also a truck driver for several years, most recently for Cordell Transportation Corp. He appreciated the friendships and years of support he found at Southside Club, Kettering. Steve loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing in his spare time. He also frequented thrift stores, always hunting for a bargain and had an appreciation for historical carpentry.
Family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 pm Friday, October 19, 2018 at Kettering Assembly of God – STUDENT CENTER, 2250 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering, OH 45440 with a service to follow at 6:00 pm officiated by Pastor Bill Rowe. David's Cemetery, Kettering will serve as Steve's final resting place. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton at 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420. Written condolences may be shared with the family at www.NewcomerDayton.com.
