Shelby Jean Baughman, age 79, of Riverside, passed away at home on September 28, 2018. Shelby was born in Morgan County, KY to the late Leona and Russell Sergent. She married James Baughman on August 4, 1956. The two moved to Dayton, Ohio where they raised their family of four children. Shelby was a very creative woman, she enjoyed painting and cake decorating in her free time. She was a loving caregiver to everyone she knew. Shelby was a loving, compassionate, and generous wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and dear friend. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Shelby Jean was preceded in death by her son, Keith Baughman.
Shelby leaves to cherish her memory, loving husband of 62 years, James E. Baughman; children, Kimberly Robinson, Karen Baughman, and Kennith (Jackie) Baughman; grandchildren, Jessica (William) Purtell, Amy (Tommy) Slade, Stephanie (Brandon Lamsdale) Robinson, Samantha (Jimi) Wilson, Janet (Jeffrey) Blankenship, Richard Baughman, and Rachel Baughman; great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Benjamin, Nathaniel, Joseph, Rosemarie, Samuel, Cameron, Bridget, Lucas, Anna, Jonathan, Cheyenne, Kristina, Jordan, Makenzie, Skylar, and Avery; great-great-grandson, Braylon; and many other loving relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Shelby's life will take place on Wednesday, October 3 at Newcomer - Beavercreek Chapel at 7pm. With visitation for one hour prior (6-7pm). There will be an opportunity to share memories during the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Shelby's memory to the American Alzheimer's Association.
