Lajia Vati Mehan( 1921-2018)
Our beloved mother Mrs. Lajia Vati Mehan passed away peacefully in her sleep (September 4, 2018) at her residence.
She was born as Lajia Vati Kaushal at Patiala, Punjab, India October 21, 1921 and was married to her late husband, Dr. Siri Krishen Mehan in 1939 until his death in California in June 1983. She has been living with Ramesh & Renee Mehan ever since.
She was a very devout Hindu and an active member of the Dayton Hindu Temple. She is survived by her children, Ramesh (Renee) Mehan of Bellbrook Ohio, Ashok (Darshan) Mehan of San Francisco CA , Vijay (Mridula) Mehan of Woodbridge CT and Usha (Mahendra) Mahajan of Beavercreek, OH. She is also survived by 10 Grandchildren and 29 Great Grandchildren.
Private services for family will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, Kettering Friday, September 7, 2018 from 9:00-11:00 am followed by a luncheon at the Mehan residence. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Hindu Temple of Dayton or any other charity of their choice.
Family will receive guests at 4:00 pm for Pooja (Memorial Service) at Hindu Temple Dayton Ohio on Saturday, September 8, 2018 followed by dinner at 5:30 pm. The Hindu temple is located at 2615 Temple Lane, Beavercreek Ohio 45431.
