Harry Eugene Brown, age 72 of Jefferson Township, passed away Monday, August 20, 2018 at his home due to complication of his agent orange exposure during the Vietnam War. He was born July 21, 1946 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Harry Brown and Almeda (Volk) Yardic.
In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Brown.
He is survived by his wife of 49.25 years, Deborah (Lorton) Brown; sons, Jonathan T. Brown and Joseph R. (Karen) Brown; daughter, Jeannette I. Abens; grandchildren, Alexie, Johnathan, Joshuah, Javanna, Jaida, Casie, Troy, Conner and Cheyanne; step-father, Stephen Yardic; special cousins, Bud Davis, Virginia Moyer and Bev Scarpelli; very close friend, Donnie Sanders and his "Sweetie", Tommie Reeder.
Harry was a 1965 graduate of Fairmont West High School and worked at the Capris Bowling Alley before entering the U.S. Marine Corps. Harry honorably served from 1966-1968 during the Vietnam War. Upon his return, Harry worked for Rim and Wheel as a bookkeeper before beginning his career with General Motors in 1969; retiring in 1995. In 1980, he established Dayton Metal Prep, a sandblasting and painting business which is still operating today. Harry was a member of the Wolf Creek Gun and Rod Club and formerly of the VFW. Harry enjoyed fishing, woodworking, collecting fire arms, boating and keeping busy helping friends and family. Harry will be remembered for his generous spirit and sense of humor.
Family will receive guests from 1:00-3:00 pm Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Kettering followed by procession to Dayton Memorial Park for military honors and burial.
