Frank J. Mazzone, age 79 of Dayton, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2018. Frank was born on July 4, 1939 to the late John and Anna Mazzone. Frank enlisted in the United States Air Force. He faithfully and honorably served for 4 years. After his service, Frank married the love of his life, Sandy McGeath in 1964. The two shared many happy years together.
He went on to work as a computer specialist for DESC for 30 years until his retirement. Frank was a diligent and hard-working man. Even after his retirement, he kept himself busy by working part time as a custodian. For the past several years, he worked for Space, cleaning the Huber Heights Health Care Facility.
Frank was a devoted family man. He took great pride in daughter and grandchildren. He was a loving, caring, and generous husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his siblings, Cosmo, Michael, Patrick, Delores, Joseph, and Anthony.
Frank leaves to cherish his memory, loving wife 54 years, Sandy Mazzone; daughter, Christine (Jim) Blackwell; grandchildren, Joshua, Alyssa, and Brandon Blackwell; sisters, Rosie Rodriguez and Angie (Don) Waker; brother, John (Sue) Mazzone; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
A graveside service and Air Force Honors will be held for Frank on Friday, August 17, 2018 at Woodland Cemetery, Dayton, Ohio at 1pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frank's honor to American Cancer Society or Hospice of Dayton.
