Reva Mae Spears, age 82, passed away with family by her side on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Hillspring of Springboro Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. She was born April 23, 1936 to the late Elmer and Mona Perry of West Liberty, Kentucky.
In addition to her parents, Reva was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Emory Spears (2012); brother, Walthan Perry and sister, Dorthalene Litteral.
She is survived by her son, Garry L. Spears and daughter, Kim Kelley, both of Ohio; 2 granddaughters, Toni Dixon and Laura Spears and 2 grandsons, Max Spears and Garry Spears Jr. as well as several great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Reva attended school in Kentucky and devoted the majority of her life to her family as a wife, mother and homemaker. She enjoyed 10 years of employment as an activities director's assistant for Heartland of Beavercreek where she also served in various other capacities. Reva resided in Fairborn for 55 years and then moved to Sierra Vista, AZ to be closer to family. She stayed in Arizona for 6 years before she moved backed to Ohio, or "God's Country" as she used to refer to it. Reva enjoyed traveling with her husband as well as bowling and skating in her youth. She more recently enjoyed walking and never missed an episode of The Young and The Restless. Reva will always be remembered as a loving and caring member of the family and a best friend to her children.
Family will receive guests during a memorial gathering from 6:30 – 8:30 pm Thursday, August 9, 2018 at Newcomer Funeral Home – Kettering. Reva's cremated remains will be laid to rest at Southern Arizona Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Sierra Vista, AZ.
