Norma Irene Clinefelter Morgan, age 88, died this Thursday, May 31st. She was born on February 23rd, 1930 to Marie Martha Clinefelter and Fred Francis Hexamer. Norma was raised primarily in foster homes throughout her childhood. She was a quiet child and studied to become a registered nurse from Pittsburgh Presbyterian hospital in 1950. There she quickly became head nurse and was recognized a very diligent and skillful nurse.
In 1954, she left Pittsburgh and started work at the VA in Dayton, Ohio. There, she met Edward Alexander Morgan and they married on December 10th, 1955. Norma prided herself in having a family and raised two boys, David and Paul. They lived in Kettering and, then, Washington Twp where they lived for 46 years.
Norma and Ed attended Sugar Creek United Presbyterian and then with Fairhaven Christian and Missionary Alliance Church which the latter for almost 48 years. They worked as a team as workers in the church as nursery, motherhood support and Ed as church trustee and handyman. They balanced each other and supported each other for 62 years until Norma's recent passing. She also found time to participate in the Sweet Adeline's Chapter in Kettering.
Norma's nursing skills were exceptional whether she was a float nurse at Miami Valley or a private duty nurse paid with cancer patients or unpaid with family members who needed support with various conditions. Many will miss these skills and the interpersonal involvement with those that she touched.
There are many other stories to whom Norma touched which would fill many pages.
