Carol Jane Hill, age 81 of Dayton, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born August 17, 1936 in Dayton, Ohio the daughter of Howard and Elva Ullmer.
In addition to her parents, Carol is preceded in death by her husband, Lyle "Bud" Hill; brothers, Howard, Jerry, Jackie and Larry Ullmer and sister, Myra Stahl. Carol is survived by her daughters, Karen S. (Kevin) (Denning) Betts and Dawn R. (Kurt) Ferguson; sons, Kevin B. (Phyllis) Stahl, and Michael L. (Maureen Purcell) Hill; grandchildren, Aaron (Jami) Dickey, Angela (Jason) Smith, Jason Denning, Susan (Mike Hathaway) Stahl, Benjamin Stahl, Angel Wireman and Cheyenne Brown; great grandchildren, Chelsea, Kayla, Austin, Avery and Naomi and sisters, Jean Gadd and Patty (Eddie) Ball as well as many additional family members and friends.
Carol spent the majority of her working life as a private housekeeper caring for the American Legion and VFW in Kettering as well as Ms. Alicia in Beavercreek and Mr. Paul of Kettering. She had also worked for a time at NCR and with her husband, Bud at Meyer's Meat Market in Oakwood. Carol enjoyed life-long memberships at the VFW Post 9927 and American Legion Post 598 in Kettering serving as well for the Ladies Auxiliary. In her younger days, she enjoyed camping and flower gardening, her grandchildren and a cold Select 55.
Family will host a memorial service 5:00 pm Sunday, May 20, 2018 at VFW Post 9927 in Kettering. Memorial contributions may be may made to VFW Post 9927 at 3316 Wilmington Pike, Dayton, OH 45429.
