HABER (Engelhardt), Theresa, born September 24, 1927 in Vertesacsa, Hungary, died April 26, 2018 at the Hospice of Dayton.
Her parents, Josef and Maria Engelhardt had a restaurant and butcher shop in Vertesaca, Hungary. Her parents were never in politics, not belonged to any party. They were ethnic Germans according to the Potsdam Agreement and in the spring of 1946 were expelled to Germany without compensation. Someone wanted their property and they settled in Nuertingen, a town close to Stuttgart. In 1954 Theresa immigrated to Canada and in Regina met Richard Haber. They were married on August 20, 1955 in Regina. Richard joined the Bricklayers Union in 1953 in Regina.
In 1958 they moved to Dayton and lived in the Dayton area ever since. Richard also transferred to the Bricklayers Local 22 in Dayton. It was Theresa's death that ended a long and happy marriage of over 62 years.
She leaves behind her grieving husband, Richard; son, Ralph; daughters, Barbara and Christine, and eight grandchildren. She was a wonderful wife and mother. Her grandchildren will sorely miss their Oma. "May you rest in peace my Love."
Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 pm on April 29, 2018 at Newcomer (South Chapel), 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering.
