Ronnie G. Collier Sr., age 75 of Huber Heights, passed away Friday, March 30, 2018 at his home. He was born November 16, 1942 in Insull, Kentucky, the son of the late Ephraim Collier and Edna Arvin.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his infant son, Michael Collier; infant granddaughter, Brooke Rhein; brothers, Bobby, Bennie, Billy Joe Collier; and step-father who raised him, Raymond Arvin.
Ronnie is survived by his wife of 57 years, Gert; daughters, Tammy (Paul) Dipuccio, Cindy (Jeff) Whitehouse, Tina (Matt) Rhein; son, Ronnie Collier, Jr.; grandchildren, Phillip, Joshua, Daniel Dipuccio, Ronnie "Trey" Collier, III, Jeffrey Whitehouse, Taylor (John) Raby, Ashley Rhein, Michael Collier, Bradley Whitehouse; great grandchildren, Hayden Dipuccio, Presley Collier, Brooklynn Owens, Gideon Dipuccio, Ellie Raby; sister, Sue (Tommy) Thomas; twin brother, Rodney Collier; beloved dog, Buddy; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Ronnie was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from General Motors after 36 years of employment. In his earlier years, he enjoyed drag racing with his son and grandsons. In the words of his grandson, Trey, "hard work and perfection were the standards he lived by. Shortcuts were never an option and taking care of his family was his priority." He enjoyed being in his yard and was very meticulous with his house maintenance. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 from 5 pm to 7 pm at Newcomer North Chapel (4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45424). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at 10 am, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Willow View Cemetery with military honors.
