Dorothy E. "Dottie" Howe, age 78 of Xenia, OH, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born July 28, 1939 in Brentwood, NH to Everett and Geraldine (Pickering) Keen. She married Nelson Eddie Howe on November 25, 1955 in Kittery, Maine.
Dottie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. Her sweet personality and spirit was evident to those who met her and felt by those who loved her. She was a thoughtful lady, always wanting to be of help any way she could and enjoyed making every holiday special for her family. Dottie enjoyed going on nature walks, watching old movies, especially "An Affair to Remember", and playing softball in her younger years. She had a sweet smile that would light up the room and she will forever be in the hearts of her family.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice of Dayton and their staff for their love and care during her last days.
Dorothy is survived by her two daughters, Sherry Howe and LaDonna (Michael) McKinley; a son, Nelson Howe, Jr.; ten grandchildren; Maggie, Adam, Joseph, Anthony, Amanda, David, Jason, Matthew, April and Eric; numerous great grandchildren; two sisters, Geraldine Bateman and Eleanor Slombo; a brother, Charles Keen; a very special friend, Barbara Doucette; and other numerous family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eddie; two brothers, Everett and John Keen; and a daughter, Rebecca Bramble .
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 11:00 am at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Burial will follow approximately 2 hours after the service at Scioto Burial Park, McDermott, OH.
