Donnie G. Owens

Donnie G. Owens, age 75 of Beavercreek, OH passed away peacefully on Monday, January 15, 2018 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born November 18, 1942 in Maysville, Kentucky to Davis "Bug" and Ruby (Gulley) Owens. He married Karan Farley on May 23, 1968 in Griffin, Georgia.
Donnie retired from GM in 1999 after 33 years where he was a Union Representative for the company. He started the T-Ball league in Beavercreek in the 70's, and was a soccer, basketball and softball coach for various local schools and teams. Donnie was a loving father to his children and grandfather to his grandchildren who loved his family dearly and will be greatly missed by all.
Donnie is survived by his wife of 50 years, Karan; two sons, Dean (Tamra) Obenauer and Mike Romie; two daughters, Sonie Owens and Stacie (Patrick) Owens-McGriff; five grandchildren, Bryson Owens, Monro and Weston Obenauer and Tyler and Kyle Romie; two sisters, Jacquelyn Hamm and Eva Johnson; a brother, Terry Owens; and other numerous family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; his step mother, Jemima Owens; and a brother, Ronnie Owens.
A Celebration of Donnie's Life will be held on January 28, 2018 at 5:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432. A gathering of family and friends will be held two hours prior to the service from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions can be made in Donnie's name to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Avenue, Dayton, OH 45420.
