NORROD, James L., age 77, of Dayton, passed away on December 7, 2017. James was born on December 30, 1939 in Monterey, TN to the late Eulys and Leva Norrod. James retired from Pepsi Cola Co. as a driver after 26 years of loyal service. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed spending his free time with his family. James was a caring and compassionate husband, father, step-father, grandfather, and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Jerrica Kosher; great-granddaughter, Jordan Eifert; and nephew, Randy Rankin.
James leaves to cherish his memory, wife of 28 years, Jerry Norrod; daughters, Terri Poynter and Suzi Murray; grandchildren, Miranda Murray and Blake Murray; sisters, Sue (Jim) White, Glenda Rankin, and Dean Roberts; step-children, Teresa Couch, Pam Lavey, Robin (Marty) Fox, Robert Fugate, and Ronald McKinney; step-grandchildren, Jacob Fox, Larry Lavey, Brieen Eifert, and Lynnsi McKinney; great-grandchildren, Gannon, and Gavin; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A celebration of James's life will take place on Friday, December 15, 2017 at 1:30pm at Newcomer - North Chapel. Family will greet friends and loved ones for one hour prior (12:30pm - 1:30pm). James will be laid to rest at Woodland Cemetery, following the service.
