Jesse Mathews

Jesse Mathews, age 89 was the first child of six siblings born to the late John H. and Emma Mathews, Sr. He was born in Wakulla County, FL, April 20, 1928 and departed this life Thursday, November 23, 2017.

Jesse is survived by his devoted wife, Lois Mathews; daughter, Satonya (Andre) Powe; grandchildren: Brittany, Brandon and Brooke Powe; great-grandson, Edward Palmer, Jr.; sisters: Lucille Herring and Mildred Crawford; God-daughter, Diane Young; sisters-in-law: Dorothy Mathews and Barbara Mathews; aunt, Omega Matthews; and a host of other relatives and friends. Jesse is also survived by loving pet, Libby.

Jesse retired from RTA after 19 years of service and also from GM after 21 years. He was a member of Living Word Church in Vandalia.

Visitation will be held from 9-11 am on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Mt. Zion A.O.H Church of God, 12 College Street, Dayton, where the funeral service will begin at 11:00 am. Burial will take place at Woodson Cemetery, Wellston, Ohio.
