Donovan, Douglas Kirk – 02-06-1969 / 11-08-2017
It is with great sadness that the family of Douglas Kirk Donovan announces his passing after a sudden illness, on Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at the age of 48 years. Doug will be lovingly remembered and not forgotten by his daughter Cassandra Lee Donovan, Tyler W. Donovan (brother), Brooke M. Donovan (niece), Diana S. Donovan (mother), Lydia F. Payne (grandmother), Richard W. Donovan (father), Eleanor Sherer Bennett (grandmother) and Miriam Donovan (stepmother), Jacqueline S. Donovan (grandmother). Aunts and Uncles: Ron and Chris Donovan Meyer, Mike and Debbie Bennett, Lisa Bennett Fitzharris, Kirby and Rose Donovan, Paul Scott Donovan.
Doug will be fondly remembered by his cousins: Don Payne, Phyllis Payne, Chandra Payne, Angela Sherer Finnegan, Paul Sherer, Andrew Sherer, Danny Maze, Stephanie Maze Poland, Pamela Sherer Javorina, Robin Sherer, Justin Donovan, Kiani Donovan, Jeremiah S. Donovan, Kevin Donovan, William (Donovan) Reid, Tom Meyer, Wendy Meyer, Emily Bennett and Jonathon Bennett.
Preceded in death by his Great Grandfather George T. Payne, Doug's Great Uncles: James W. Payne, Ralph M. Payne, Emil B. Payne all served in WW II and Clyde G. Payne. Great Grandfather Williard H. Donovan, Great Aunt Margie Donovan, Great Uncles Gordon Donovan and Everrett Donovan, Aunt Monica S. Donovan Reid, Great Aunt Wilma Payne, Great Aunt and Uncle Vaunita and Robert Sherer, Cousin Keith Payne. Doug will be missed and remembered by many friends and work acquaintances.
A native of West Carrolton/Dayton, Ohio, Doug was baptized and a member of the Moraine Heights Baptist Church, graduated West Carrollton High School 1987, attended Wright State University and Sinclair College. Learned the trade of Carpentry with Zengel Construction Company and worked in the field of construction for over 25 years.
A Memorial Service in memory of Doug will be held at
Cornerstone Baptist Temple, 1707 Ohmer Avenue, Dayton, Ohio which is right off US 35 (South on/at Smithville Exit, Right on Linden, Right on Rosemont Blvd) – Tuesday, November 14, 2017, Promptly at 4:00 pm – 4:30 pm by Pastor Siler. At 4:30 pm – 6:00 pm Family and friends are welcome to stay and have fellowship and refreshments in the basement of the Cornerstone Baptist Temple. Afterwards you are invited and welcome to stay for the Fall Revival Services at Cornerstone Baptist Church at 7:00 with Pastor Tim Ruhl.
