Barbara Jane Merical, 80, of Vandalia, passed away November 9, 2017.
Barbara was born in Wellsville, Ohio on December 28, 1936 to the late Harry and Helen Mercer. Barbara retired from the Vandalia Drummer Newspaper in 1989. In her free time, she enjoyed crafting, knitting, and crocheting. Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and loved to spend time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Merical; son, Rex Allen Merical; brother, Joseph Mercer; and sister, Faye Nicholson.
She is survived by son, Randy Paul Merical; daughter, Terry Lynne Sonnenberg; brother, Dale (Audrey) Mercer; sisters, Trina (Bob) Lewis, and Terry Manley; grandchildren, Daniel, Alisha, Nichole, Krystal, Michelle, and Melissa; great-grandchildren, Kristina, Autumn, Isabella, Kaleb, Hayden, Hudson, and Henley; and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A visitation will be held from 9am - 10am on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at Newcomer - North Chapel (4104 Needmore Rd. Dayton), where services will begin at 10am. Burial will follow at Polk Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Barbara's memory to Hospice of Dayton.
