Mason Powers

Mason J. Powers, age 89 of Dayton, passed away September 3, 2017. He was born December 27, 1927 in Dayton. He was preceded in death by his father, Mason A. Powers; mother, Thelma Wooley; son, Michael Powers; granddaughters: Lori Staley and Lee Ann Staley; and great-granddaughter, Lynnea Nicole (Staley) Dixon.

Mason is survived by his wife of 68 years, Elveta Powers; son, Jerry Powers; daughter, Betty Ann Powers Allen (David); grandsons: Mason Staley, Darrian Gooding and Jeremiah Gooding; granddaughter, Destiney Staley; sister-in-law, Betty Raines; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mason was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, WWII and Korean War.

Visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 am on Friday, September 8, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, where the funeral service will begin at 10:30 am. Burial to follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. To send a special message to the family, please click on Share Memories.
