Cecil Rose, of Centerville, went to be with the Lord on August 14, 2017 at 10:45 pm. He was born September 11, 1931 in Jackson County, Kentucky to Eugene and Eudell (Chrisman) Rose. He was preceded in death on May 7, 2017 by his beloved wife of 64 years Devonna Ruth (Norvell) Rose. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sister – Whit (Junior), Viola, and Arvil. He is survived by his children – Leslie (Vicky) of Jamestown, Rhonda (Gary) Lee of West Carrollton, Crystal (Tim) Heiskell of Neosho, Missouri, Gary (Debbie) of Middletown, and Mary (Wallace) Bates of New Lebanon with whom he spent the last three months of his life; 39 grandchildren and spouses; and 30 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Helen Chaney of Kettering; sisters-in-law Shirley Angel of New Lebanon, Geneva Norvell of Zanesville, Alberta Norvell of Centerville; brothers in law, Ray Lamb of Red Lion and Jack McGowan of Florida; also many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Cecil and Devonna were founding members of Centerville First Pentecostal Church. They then were members of Full Gospel Temple in Germantown. For the past 28 years Cecil was a faithful member of Union Road Pentecostal Church where he served as an Elder, co-leader of the Senior Saints ministry worked in the Children's ministry and Cookie ministry. Cecil was employed at National Cash Registry until 1968 and then was owner of Cecil Rose Remodeling until June of 2016. Cecil was an Army Medic and a proud Korean War Veteran.
A Celebration of Cecil's life will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Union Road Pentecostal Church, 1101 North Union Road, Trotwood, Ohio. Reverend Clifford Hurst will be officiating. Burial will follow in Centerville Cemetery. Cecil's family will receive friends and family from 10AM – 12PM prior to the service.
