Bruce R. Thompson, age 78 of Dayton, passed away Friday, August 4, 2017. He was born August 8, 1938 in Greensburg, Kentucky to the late Uyless and Mildred Thompson.
Bruce attended Kiser H.S. in Dayton. He proudly served in the U.S. Army. Bruce retired as a Deputy Sheriff from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Department after over 30 years. He was a member of the F.O.P. Retirees Association.
In addition to his parents, Bruce was preceded in death by his sister, Dale Adkins. Bruce will be missed by his loving wife of 50 years, Breezie; daughters, Joyce Shumaker and Barbie (Matt) Shomper; grandchildren, Dylan Shomper, Bobby Simboli, Bruce Simboli and Amanda Dozier; siblings, Shirley Moore, Gale (Ralph) Blakley, Sue Miller, Steve Thompson, and Faye (David) Mullins; and brother-in-law, Lonza Adkins.
Family will receive friends Tuesday, August 8, 2017 from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45424. Burial Forest Hills Memorial Gardens.
