Kenneth L. "Leroy" Collins, age 79 of Jamestown (Shawnee Lake), OH, passed away Friday, May 26, 2017 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born April 14, 1938 in Troy, Ohio, the son of Harry and Margaret (Brown) Collins. He married Mary Watson on June 9, 1956 in Troy, OH.
Leroy retired from Dayton Reliable Tool Company in 1994 after working 25 years as a Tool and Die Machinist. He loved boating, water skiing, riding motorcycles and fast Corvettes, watching NASCAR and Hockey, was a social bug and especially loved beautiful women. He loved his Pomeranian Chance, but mostly loved his family dearly and will be greatly missed by all.
Leroy is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary; a son, Kenneth "Kenny" (Robin) Collins; a daughter, Connie George; three grandchildren, Andy (Betsy) Collins, Courtney (Chris) Smith and Natalie Collins; six great grandchildren, Dalton, Layne, Garrett and Kelton Smith, Lucy and Troy Collins; and other numerous family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Ryan Jeffrey George; and a sister, Darlene and her husband Tom Warner.
Visitation will be May 31, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - Beavercreek Chapel. 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at Mt. Zion Shoup Cemetery. Memorial contributions are requested to Animal Rescue or Animal Shelter of the donor's choice or St. Jude's Children's Hospital Cancer Research, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
