Charles "Charlie" Peyton
August 8, 1920 — April 2, 2017
Charles "Charlie" Peyton, age 96 of Dayton, passed away with his daughter by his side on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at Brookhaven Rehab and Retirement Center. He was born August 8, 1920 in Cannel City, Kentucky, the son of the late Leroy and Clara Peyton.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sons, Clinton, Douglas and Dean Peyton; brothers, Stanley, Clyde, Mitchell, Richard, Tommy, Vernon and Pete Peyton; and sister, Margaret Sizemore.
Charlie is survived by his daughter, Debra (Robert) Thorpe; 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Charlie was a well-known roofer in the Dayton community for 45 years. He primarily worked for Dahm Brothers Roofing in Dayton.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017 from 12 pm to 1 pm at Woodland Cemetery (118 Woodland Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45409). A memorial service will begin at 1 pm with burial to follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Hospice of Dayton in Charlie's memory.
