Janice Mae Frey (Jannie Mae), age 75, of Beavercreek Ohio, passed away on December 5th, 2016, after a courageous battle against cancer. She passed peacefully surrounded by family.
A memorial gathering will be held from 2:00 pm until the memorial service at 4:00 pm on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home located at 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd. Beavercreek, Ohio 45432. Pastor Andrew Brewster will be officiating.
Janice was born in Otway, Ohio on the 25th day of February, 1941 to Willard Franklin Collett and Nancy Garnet Snook Collett. She was the youngest of three children.
Janice worked as a home health aide for many years and as a receptionist at her church. She enjoyed gardening (had a very green thumb), she loved making flower arrangements, decorating, especially for the holidays. She was also actively involved in the church ministry and youth groups.
Janice was married to Harold T. Blankenship for 20 years and from that marriage two children were born. She also had a daughter from a previous relationship. When she least expected it, her soul mate and the love of her life, Ted Frey, walked into her life. Ted and Jannie Mae (as he called her), married in 1983 and lived in Titusville Florida with their beloved pet, Ginger. They made Florida their home for 33 years.
Janice is survived by 3 children, Karen Adams of Columbus Ohio, Angie Pina (Desiderio) of Beavercreek Ohio, and Tom Blankenship of Houston Texas. She also has 14 grandchildren, Christy Mayberry (Shane), Sheri Adkins (Mark), Jamie Newman (Ryan), Brooke Bragdon Carpenter (Jamie), Bethany Schmidberger (Matt), Greg Pina, Michael Pina (Emily), John Pina, Daniel Pina, Kenny Vaughn (Liz), Shana Bryant (Drew), Kori Luckey (Justin), Jessica Loucks (Charlie), and Shelly Kroll Reil. She has 19 great grandchildren and 3 great, great, grandchildren. She's also survived by her brother Gordon Lee Collett (Phillis) of Westerville Ohio, 5 nephews, 3 nieces, and other family members, extended family members and friends.
Janice is preceded in death by her husband, Ted Frey, her father, Willard Collett, her mother, Garnet Collett, her sister, Nancy Collett Green,her brother-in-law, Ed Green, her grand- daughter, Brittney Bragdon, a step-daughter LeAnne Frey, and son-in-law, Claude Adams.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the American Cancer Society.
