Charles "Ronnie" Miller, age 70 of Dayton, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Kettering Medical Center. He was born October 23, 1946 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Carl and Dimple Miller.
Ronnie was a graduate of Wayne H.S. class of '65. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War as a 3rd class petty officer on the U.S.S. Carronade. Following his service in the Navy, Ronnie attended and graduated from Sinclair College in Dayton. He retired from NCUA after 25 years. Ronnie was a loving husband, the best dad ever and wonderful grandfather, affectionately known as "Paps". Ronnie would give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed help. He was meticulous, and eccentric collector, and a jokester. He had a passion for cars, especially corvettes and enjoyed working on them. He was a former member of the Corvette Club in Troy and a current member of the Thunderbird Club. Ronnie was an advocate for the Veteran's Administration and a member of the Vietnam Veteran's Association Florida Chapter #1036.
Ronnie will be missed by his loving wife of 49 years, Jan Miller; daughter, Kristin (Christopher) Runck; grandchildren, Abigail and Jacob Runck; three sisters, Donna Miller, Shirley (Bradley) Bilyeu and Pamela (Gregory) Warden; nieces and nephews, Janie, Lora, Chase and Cameron; a great-niece, a great-nephew, cousins and many friends.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2017 Newcomer Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, OH, with Rev. Jerry Clark, officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-8pm at the funeral home. Interment Dayton National Cemetery.
