Gary N. Miller, Sr.
In celebration of a life that began September 3, 1945 the second son of parents, Floyd H. Miller and Carrie E. Scarbrough transitioned into eternal peace on Wednesday, October 26, 2016.
Gary leaves to cherish his memories to his devoted wife, Patricia; children: Ruby (Earl), David, Sheryl (Jon), Gary Jr. (Trisha); grandchildren; great-granddaughter; brothers: Eddie, Glenn (Rose) and Mickey (Charlene); sister, Kathy; beloved Aunt, Mary Lois Jackson-Lewis; best friend for many years, Denny Walker; as well as numerous loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Carrie; daughter, Teresa; and many wonderful and loving aunts and uncles.
Gary graduated from Northridge High School, Class of 1963 and achieved an Accounting Degree from Miami Jacobs College in Dayton. He retired from the Teamsters Local 957 and was a life long member of the American Legion Post # 746. Gary loved to travel and never minded wandering off the beaten path making many trips with his brothers hunting, fishing and racing. He was able to share his love for travel with Pat and the kids. He loved visiting the ocean and enjoyed special moments with friends and family sharing stories of yesterday. He is and will forever be missed by all who knew him.
You are welcomed to join in our celebration of Gary on Monday, October 31, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road. Visitation from 3-4 pm and memorial service at 4:00 pm. Rev. Ryan Rose officiating. A gathering afterwards will be at the American Legion Post # 746.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the wonderful staff at Miami Valley Hospital Heart and Vascular Center and Intensive Care Unit who went above and beyond their callings in helping Gary and his family in their time of need as well as the National Kidney Foundation.
