Ann Blackmon

Ann Blackmon was born January 18, 1931 in Sun Flower, Mississippi to Louise Norwood and James Campbell. She departed this life June 18, 2016 at Sycamore Hospital, Dayton, Ohio. She was the eldest of seven children. Her parents, three of her siblings and son Glenn preceded her in death. Ann was united in marriage to Earnest Blackmon on June 20, 1953 in Sunflower, Mississippi. She was a loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother. Earnest preceded Ann in death on May 23, 1998 after 45 years of marriage. After which, their son Terry diligently and lovingly cared for her until her departure from this life. Ann was baptized in Jesus name and received the gift of the Holy Spirit in 1970. She was a regular member of Bethesda Temple Church.

Left to cherish Ann's memory are Daughters: Ethel Lewis Weaver (Robert), Dorothy Walker (Hermon), Earnestine Porter, Glenda Blackmon, Jewel Foster (Anthony); Sons: Kemp Blackmon and Terry Blackmon; Sisters: Mary Louise Bradley and Willa Bell Robinson; Brother: Luther (Buddy) Norwood; Special niece: Emmaline Ross. Ann also leaves 13 grandchildren - Michelle, Billy, Kimberly, Janelle, Janine, Michael, Charles, Shawn, Emmanuel,Walter, Larissa, Jamar and Joshua, 16 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive friends Saturday, June 25, 2016 from 10 - 11am at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, where funeral services will begin at 11am. Burial will be at Woodland Cemetery.
