Thomas Byrd

Thomas A. Byrd, age 63 of Piqua, passed away May 25, 2016. He was born September 17, 1952 in Dayton to the late James and Helen Byrd. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Cathy Price.

Tom is survived by his wife of 37 years, Cindy Byrd; daughter, Tina (John) Urbina of Texas; sister, Pam Kilburn; brother, Michael (Teresa) Byrd; mother and father-in-law: Barbara and Charles Pray; brother-in-law, Charlie (Carla) Pray; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Tom was known as a hard-working, supportive, generous man. He was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother and friend. Tom loved to boat and fish, and had a great love of animals. He was a Machinist / Tool Maker and former employee of Crown Cork and Seal, International Harvester and Fram.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-6 pm on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Tom's memory to Hospice of Miami County.
