Connie M. Landis (Parr)

Connie M. Landis (Parr), 75, of Terre Haute, IN and formerly of Dayton, passed away Monday, May 9, 2016 in her residence.

Connie was born July 30, 1940 in Dayton, Ohio to Allen Parr and Thelma Schaff Searls.

Connie was an avid Indianapolis 500 fan, attending many races and time trials over the years. She was a member of the Neal Diamond Fan Club. She loved going to garage sales and flea markets and to hunt bargains. Connie enjoyed gardening and taking care of her flowers. She was especially fond and proud of her cactus garden when she lived in California. She especially loved spending time with her daughter.

She was preceded in death by her father, a brother Allen "Butch" Parr and her husband, John Landis, who passed away September 1998.

Connie is survived by her daughter, Shelli Landis; her stepson, Jim Landis and his wife, Trish; her brothers, Dave Parr and his wife, Karen, Ed Searls and his wife, Diana; her sisters, Linda Parr, June Heis and her husband, Rick, and Becki Tinglestad. She is also survived by her grandchildren, John Landis, Aaron Landis and his wife Mercy and Allison Puckett and her husband Robert. She is also survived by great grandchildren; Camden, Trevor, Bryson and Emmet and grand dog, Macy and grand cat, Buffy; nieces and nephews, Brian Heis, Matt Heiss (Amy), Rachel Parr, Kevin Tinglestad (Rachel), and Leanne Henderson (Adam); and longtime family friend, Anna May Groves.

A Gathering of Friends and Family will be held Monday, May 16, 2016 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home 4104 Needmore Rd, where a Memorial Service will follow at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Steve Veg officiating.
