John Estridge

John Estridge, age 85, of Dayton, passed away on April 22, 2016 at his home. He was born on November 3, 1930, in Dayton, Ohio to the late Hugh and Elizabeth (Johnson) Estridge. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Mary Estridge and his sister, Donna. John is survived by his loving children, Rick Estridge and Becky (Kent) Loose; two grandchildren, Angela Post, John Loose; three great-grandchildren, Jacob, Alex and Mary Post; brother, Jack (Diane) Estridge; numerous nieces and nephews; and dear friends from Moraine Air Park. John served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was also an experienced pilot for over 50 years. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2016, from 11:00 am. to 1:00 pm. at Newcomer Funeral Home- South Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, OH. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
