Mary Boggs

Mary Boggs, age 87 of Dayton, passed away April 7, 2016. She was born July 4, 1928 in Dayton to the late Thurman and Edna Crowell. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Denver Boggs; son, Vernon Hock; sister, Carol McFarland; and brother, Russell Stump.

Mary is survived by her children: Eddie (Lynn) Hock, Marty (Jerry) Jones, Mary (Tim) Covill and Russell Hock; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sister, Catherine Nelson; and brother, Bob (Nancy) Stump.

Mary was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church and a previous member of Northridge Baptist Church. She enjoyed embroidering, sewing, going to church, but most of all loved spending time with her family.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 1707 Ohmer Avenue. Pastors Jerry Siler and Steve Veg co-officiating. Burial to follow at Lower Miami Cemetery.

Contributions may be made in Mary's memory to The Hospice of Dayton. Mary's family would like to thank the staff at Oak Creek Terrace Nursing Home for their loving care. Mary always felt like they were her extended family and friends.
