In Memory Of
John Charles Blair
1933 - 2020
He enjoyed spending time with family, camping, country gospel music, playing Rook with friends and family, search-a-word puzzles, travelling to 46 out of 50 US states, being a snowbird in Florida, repairing cars and restoring a ’65 Mustang. He was talented at fixing anything. He never met a piece of pie he didn’t like. He retired at the age of 52 after working 38 years at Delco Products in Kettering.
Most important to him was his Christian faith and his family. His faith began at an early age at the Missionary Baptist Church in West Van Lear, KY and continued to the end of his life. He served as a deacon at the Ferry Church of Christ for many years. He was a veteran of the US Army and a member of the Kentucky Colonels and the Good Sam RV Club.
John is survived by the love of his life for 64 years, Louise (Kidder) Blair, daughter, Cathy (Tim) Brock and two sons, Dave (Vicki) Blair and Dean (Barbara) Blair, nine grandchildren, and nineteen great grandchildren. He was a great role model for his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, and five sisters.
Family will receive guests from 5-7 PM on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at Newcomer Centerville Chapel, 820 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd., Dayton, 45459. A funeral service will begin at 10 AM on Thursday, February 6 at the funeral home. Entombment will follow the service at Miami Valley Memorial Gardens, Centerville, OH.
