Shirley Jean Gray

Gray, Shirley J., 74, of Dayton, departed this earthly existence Monday, June 13, 2016.
Shirley was employed for 31 ½ years with the Dayton Police Dept. She also briefly performed as an Aerialist in various circuses, as she also had a fascination with elephants.
Shirley was a very strong, independent, loving woman.
She was preceded in death by her parents Julian and Alice Theuber, and older brother Jim.
Shirley is survived by her youngest brother, Dan (Eve) Theuber; her children, Steve (Sheri) Gray, Cheryl Chaffin; 3 grandchildren, Bradley, Rachel, Nicole; 1 great grandson, Logan Lee, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends and her longtime canine companion of 9 years, Simadar.
Visitation 5 to 8pm Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home 4104 Needmore Rd, where funeral service will be held 1:00pm Friday. Burial at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton in Shirley's memory.
